We're coming full circle; isolating China. Weren't be better off leaving China the same agrarian backward country that it once was? What do we have to show for?A world military power that is challenging the US at every turn. I am sure Apple would have found another place to make their iPhones. Once a communist, always a communist.

I didn't like Nixxon but I thought his timing was right to open relations with China.

Yes, it was. China helps us keep the dollar as the world’s reserve currency and helps fund our national debt thus keeping interest rates low. Americans also save billions of dollars a year thanks to Chinese goods. Plus our farmers had a great market feeding the world’s most populous nation.

Helping us win the Cold War is an added bonus.

Nixon got us out of Vietnam and the EPA was created under his run. I'll give then those. Relations is one thing, "Most favored nation trading status" in the 90's was a mistake. They manipulate their currency, steal our designs and intellectual property, in addition to stealing military secrets, and ship their products 1/2 way around the world on oil fed, oil leaking Scowls.

What can you say about China. Biggest polluter in the world regardless of what they or their friends here say. They use as much coal as the rest of the world combined, dump the most plastic in the worlds ocean (30 times more than us). India's coming on strong though.
