Young men (and some young women) who drive intoxicated often take crazy chances, because they're not used to drinking and they suddenly feel bulletproof.

Adults who are trying to drive well, after having a couple drinks (and I do mean a couple, not 8) at least TRY to drive well, which goes far. Unlike with drivers who are texting, with a drink driver, at least SOMEONE is driving.

I heard a comedian the other day. He was remarking on the sign "Drive like your kids live here". He said if they wanted really careful driving, it should say "Drive like you just left the bar and there's a cop behind you".

It has been studied quite intensely. They didn't come up with .08 because it's a cool number.

That is regarded as the limit one can safely drive, operate machinery and a boat.

TO set it lower is simply trying to pump the coffers with fines. Nothing more.

FYI, there are functioning alcoholics who carry around 1.5% just to be "normal". Any less and they can't function let alone operate a thing. Alcohol is really really dangerous once addicted to it. I know from personal experience.

What is the BAC after having 5 Everclear shots in a row? That should be the legal limit and the min. amount allow is the BAC you get after having 1 Everclear shot!

Ah, it's semicolons that are your enemy. I see. We are talking about Section I, right?

Seems very clear. Some privileges or immunities are for citizens, some are for persons.

I don't believe in DUIs if the person is driving fine. If the person is driving impaired, and it shows they have a high BAC, then I support revoking their license. No prison, but no license for 5 years either.
