Well, driving is a privilege not a right according to the vast majority (over 99%) of the populace so I guess I'm really screwed.

That's what I say.

Experience proves the idea although I don't really drink much anymore. Why should responsible people be punished and give up their drinking and driving and for that matter their guns because of a few idiots?

Super difficult conversation.

I HATE drunk drivers. But I also recognize that I drive after drinking. Typically I won't drive if I have more than 2 or 3 drinks in the evening (a 2-4 hour period) In theory doing BAC math I shouldn't be over .05 when I drive. I can honestly say I'm every bit as cognizant alert and cautious as I would be otherwise.

At what point shouldn't I drive in not sure. Maybe .08 maybe .1 maybe .15. It's very difficult. Alcohol affects different people differently and under different circumstances.

One day I might drink 3 IPAs and be totally fine. Another day i might drink 3 bud lights and shouldn't drive.

It's tough to say. Part of the problem is there are so many bad drivers now when people are sober and conditions are perfect. Throw in cell phones, selfishness, poor situational awareness, distractions, heavy traffic etc...
