I think it always has during winter storms...Nothing to do with sea level rise...During the storms a lot of logs etc end up in the water and waves pound them into the shore.

By the way the chart you posted is for Vancouver....

Local sea levels are determined by a variety of factors such as, the volume of water in the ocean, plate tectonics, post glacial rebound (where earth previously weighed down by glaciers rises up after the ice melts), and ocean dynamics. When observing local trends in sea level all of these influences must be accounted for. Campbell River experiences annual uplift (vertical land movement) of approximately 4mm as a result of post glacial rebound and plate tectonics. Currently, the rate of global sea level rise is less than the rate of local uplift.

Obama just bought ocean front property for 15 million.

I guess he really did stop the rise of world's oceans in his mind.

Yeah, I'd love to be able to just sit on my porch and stare out into the ocean.

Vancouver is the closest NOAA tide gauge to Campbell River to get a trend....it's about 1 inch a century

I've offered to buy beach front property from any liberal global warmer for 5 cents on the dollar. If they really believe their land will be underwater they should jump at the chance to " sucker" me. So far, no takers.

If you’re so convinced it’s not happening then why the large cut, just buy at full price and you’ll make a killing when it appreciates.

That is water coming in from the ocean...high tides...King tides......seem to be more frequent. Could be my imagination.

I support policies that protect the environment - -not because of global warming -- just because I like the idea of looking after this planet.

so if we can stop using plastic bags, straws, etc.....let's do it. Somehow society managed without these things for years.

Let's Make America Great Again and reduce the use of one time use plastics....maybe that's what Trump meant all along -- lolol.
Absolutely agree with you on this.
