I'm kinda surprised at no response to Kremlin run TV running a video of Trump singing a love song to Putin.

The Russians can see what many of our own Trumpies refuse to see: Trump's obsequiousness toward Putin.

... and they are mocking him.

Trump is Putin's dancing bear.

2nd video down, in Russian with "60" on the screen. It's all in Russian until the mash-up video at about 1.07 mins.

That's what I found so noteworthy, they appear to be openly mocking Trump for sucking up to Putin, though I would love to know what they are saying before and after the video. The fact that is essentially government TV is worse.

The gist of the video is that annexation of Crimea caused a rift between Russia and the EU, and in the words of the commentators, such rift is in the interests of the US. In particular, says the video, Russia and Germany were moving closer together, but now they're far apart.

Also, Trump's invitation to Putin, say the commentators, is less about politics than about his desire to hobnob with a "powerful leader". Putin doesn't reciprocally invite Trump, because he (Putin) has no need to burnish his leadership credentials.
