Because contrary to popular belief, there isn't a quota that states gay women (or straight women, or anyone else) have to be there. If they want it they have to run just like the others.
Gay women candidates just can’t catch a break in the Democrat Presidential field. We have three gay men, two geriatric men, men of color, but not a single gay female candidate. Where is the outrage among the LGBTQ contingent?
I'm confused as to what it is that you want from the gay community. A response?
You know that not all gay people are the same, right? Like, just as I'm a straight woman typing this and I think you identify as a straight man, we are not the same?
Our sexual preferences do not mean we want exactly the same things.
I cannot speak for the gay community, but I can comment on the fact that your question about why there has been no unified response from the LGBTQIA folk is completely copacetic with what they have been asking for: equal treatment regardless of identity.
There. Another wall dividing you and your fellow citizenry has been torn down. You now have proof that gay people are not a monolithic organization dedicated to your oppression.
Democrats have 11 LGBTQ reps in Congress. Republicans have 0.
End thread.
Honestly, no one has more LGBT reps in Congress than Republicans. You cannot throw a rock in that group without hitting a closeted Republican trying to solicit sex in an airport bathroom.
Or hiring a gay escort to help them "carry their luggage" on vacation trips that they take "alone"... Without their wives.
Hillary was the first Lesbian candidate for President. However, sexual orientation, gender, skin color, ethnicity should not be a factor in electing a President.
So that I can understand, is calling Hillary a lesbian supposed to be an insult? Because as a very rich woman who has been married to the same man for over 40 years, she could certainly afford to divorce him and be an “out” lesbian, if there was any truth to your suggestion. Statements about another person’s sexual orientation when there is no evidence to support them reminds me of 7th grade. But then, that’s not surprising on this board.
