Man,these bros ain't got no respect for a public holiday.
But if they want to go blasting the crap out of each other what's wrong with a bit of self-imposed social cleansing?
Democrats run Denver. They run Madison (WI), Seattle and Portland. They Boston and Minneapolis. None of those cities are seeing the levels of carnage Chicago has been seeing.
And furthermore, Chicago isn't even the worst. St. Louis is far worse. Baltimore is far worse than Chicago. Memphis is very bad. And Jackson,Mississippi has a murder rate over twice as high as Chicago. Same goes for Birmingham,AL.

Chicago is certainly much, much lower homicide rate than St. Louis, Kansas City, Baltimore and many others.
I have look at articles that break down the homicide rates though and Chicago has a clusters of neighborhoods in the south and west sides of it that are extremely high.
The others cities don't have the population, so while on a per-capita basis Chicago is much, much lower than many cities, in raw numbers it's the highest number of any city in America year after year.
Denver while being a lower homicide rate than Chicago and many other cities, is nothing to brag about when it comes to crime.
Denver has a far, far higher rate of homicide than Seattle, Portland and Madison. Denver is certainly not a low crime city what so ever. Denver also has several high-crime suburbs. Overall, there are many safe Democratic cities but Denver is not an example of one.
Denver has a violent crime and homicide rate nearly twice the national average.
Denver had 67 homicides last year, which seems to be far, far higher than Seattle and Portland.
Seattle and Portland are very Democratic and have very low homicide rates but the housing costs also force people out who are not existing homeowners or have subsidized housing which covers only a tiny percentage of the housing in the city.
Madison seems to have extremely low homicide rates and just recently had it's first of the year in August.
Madison though is supposedly the most expensive metropolitan area in the Midwest and families in poverty can't afford to move there as they are priced out unless they can port a section 8 voucher but since Madison is a high-rent city, that would mean that families can't transfer their voucher's there because of high rents.
