It did seem to help to pressure Mexico to enforce its own southern border - to keep Guatemalans, Hondurans from entering its own country (Mexico). This is just one simple measure that a competent administration would come up with -- Just creative management by our politicians.
Make Mexico pay through economic pressure (decrease trade, withhold aid, etc).
No wall needed for this accomplishment.
Is Mexico stopping their own citizens from entering our country illegally? No, and they haven't for years and years.
Yes, walls are needed on the most porous areas of the border. Still in denial in spite of the numerous links I have provided proving that they are very effective including the sentiments of the Border Patrol and Homeland Security? Why don't you and yours just admit that you want the flow of illegals to continue unabated and be done with it?
Can a court stop this? If so they should've waited until the deed was done to make it public. Easier to ask forgiveness and all that.
The transfer of money is legal, so this is not an argument about the Trump administration illegally transferring funds. Besides, it's a transfer of funds from one federal agency to another. These funds have already been appropriated by Congress.
Meanwhile, when Obama was president he illegally transferred $3 billion a year of taxpayer money, from the US Treasury to private insurance companies.
Obama called it "cost-sharing subsidies," and the court ruled that it was illegal, and violated our US Constitution. No president can simply take money from the Treasury and hand it out to privately owned companies; his pen and phone be damned.
I wonder if the same people complaining bitterly about this $3.6 billion, also complained when Obama violated the US Constitution by illegally transferring over $10 billion? I doubt it.
