Another racist rant. Magnums are one of the most popular malt beverages in economically disadvantaged neighborhoods, second only to Colt (It works every time) 45. I suppose you want to ban Colt 45 next?

We hear much talk about banning semi-autos. The magnum is actually more powerful, more recent, and more high-tech. The semi-auto goes all the way back to the 19th century. There were even guns with high clips back then, such as the 1895 Mauser.
The magnum was invented much later, when depression-era gangster wars were heating up across America. Gangsters such as Bonnie and Clyde, and 'Pretty Boy' Floyd drove V-8 Fords. In shootouts they would hide behind the engine block. There was nothing police could do.
Enter the magnum. It could slice through an engine block like a gerbil through Richard Gere. One of the first, perhaps the first, magnums made by Smith & Wesson went to J. Edgar Hoover.
But the magnum did not really gain popularity until the 1970s and the 'Dirty Harry' movies starring Clint Eastwood. Detective Harry Callahan uttered one of the most recognizable lines ever. It is little-remembered that it was in the act drawing down on an unarmed black male:
The magnum should be allowed ONLY for police and military. I would make exception for a licensed security operator such as "P.I. Magnum." The show's star Tom Selleck later became an NRA spokesperson. But in the show, he was licensed and had been trained to shoot the magnum as a Vietnam veteran. Are you? If you're not a policeman, soldier, or licensed security, there is no legitimate reason that you should have a magnum.
It has been said that if we should ban the AR-15, criminals would just switch to the magnum. That's why I think that the time to ban it is now, before we undertake to ban the AR 15. Once banned it would be difficult to impossible to bring it back.
We all know that eventually the AR-15 will be banned. There is simply to much pressure in that direction. Banning the magnum first would give us a two step strategy, by which we could out-fox the NRA.
Who said such a thing? Sounds like a cub reporter who doesn't know which end of a gun shoots.
All of the magnum cartridges I am familiar with are rimmed cartridges, which do not lend themselves to semiautomatic weapons. If there is such a beast in existence, I stand corrected, but a rimmed cartridge would have far more tendency to cause a malfunction in any sort of rapid fire operation.
This was NOT intended as an anti-gay slur. I was not even aware of any suggestion that Richard Gere was gay.
Stick to things you know about then. Guns, Gere, gays, and gerbils are not on that list for you.
