I would agree with you, 100%. Noting that "many" is not "most".

In a rare show of solidarity I am with you. But, probably unlike you, I realize that the pendulum sometimes moves too far in one direction and might overcompensate in the other to make up for it. So I largely ignore all the backs and forth, letting it be (as the Beatles said).

I had one employee who was really homophobic. He was raised Jehovahs witness. I myself was probably homophobic for some time as I was very scared of the whole NYC scene (avoided it) and such....of course, I still do. But at this point many of our friends and acquaintances are gay and there is zero drama to it. I may even, in some cases, think they are strange...but who am I to judge? I'm strange too.

When you consider the outsized popularity of gay stuff on the porn sites and on TV, etc.....it does show that MANY "straight" people have interest, and it's not just a passing interest either. To be frank, it seems as if a lot of straight people would cast off their chains (or chastity belts) if society wasn't holding them in their places.

Not to say that is a bad thing. We all kowtow to social norms to an extent and I think that isn't always a negative.

I'm a firm believer in the idea of the Kinsey Scale, personally.

Correct. I definitely did not want to give the impression of "most".

What that "many" is, I have no idea.

Well if this gets at least a few parents to stop psychologically damaging their kids through conversion therapy, it'll be a good thing. The practice is already banned in eighteen states for minors. Perhaps some day the religions will adapt as well.

Going with the logic of stories like this, if they had an abundance of straight conversion programs (going from straight to gay), would the leader likely later come out as straight?

I didn’t “choose” to be straight. It is unlikely many choose to be gay.

I am sure there are some that are bisexual and can choose but it seems to me those so predisposed would more likely choose to be straight.

I don’t think straight people realize how much guts it takes, to be your own man, and to live out of the closet as a homosexual person. Many of these closeted self-hating phobes, are cowards, scared to death of what others think, and sacrifice their own happiness, pretending to be someone they’re not. They can’t stand seeing others that have the guts they lack, knowing their life will never be fulfilled continuing to live a lie.

I've known a couple of people like this. Turns out later on, they were in fact, gay.
