I wish all such conversion therapy people would come to realize gay people are gay and don't need to be "fixed".

Anyone with gay friends knows gay is more than some kind of phase that can be changed.

Then again, being a friend means accepting who they are. If you do not like gay, do not hang around them.

Anyone who believes that gay conversion therapy will cure gay people should have their head examined!

What? Someone who was militantly anti-gay has come out/been outed as gay themselves?

Reps to you Pedro. This is one of the few areas where you and I agree completely.

I honestly believe that many people who are strongly anti-gay have at least some bisexual feelings and deal with it by lashing out due to shame.

There could be an element of projection there, but I think it can be overstated. The first thing the Left says if you don't promote, and glorify LGBT, then you are homophobic and Gay yourself.

My belief has always been live and let live. Whatever consenting adults do privately is none of my business. Government should not be telling people who they can marry either.

I'm not talking about the people who don't care or even ambivalent about it, I'm talking about those who are basically obsessed about it.

I also exclude older people who, for most of their lives, were told it was a mental illness. Remember, the medical establishment considered it a mental illness unti the 70's.

Imagine having done that for 20 years...and then coming to terms.

The Lessons here are many. In my case I stay away from anything "new" and improved......my BS detector goes off when people claim all kinds of miracles.

I'm sure there are straight people would could or would be gay and gay people who are straight...or who could be...or who maybe wish they were, but in most cases they don't need an institution to tell them how to accomplish (or forget) their wants and needs.

No one can have it all and we make choices....and, in the case of some things, our brains make choices which are pretty dang solid.

So be it.

Despite the many gay bashing threads here, a bit of reading on the subject shows it has been normal for many many thousands of years and that, like most forbidden fruits, trying to suppress or demonize it doesn't end up well.

Well, I am super-left and I neither promote, discuss or otherwise glorify LGBT...rzxhets and whatever else they may have added to it. While much of said community may feel "more free" aligning with the Left, that's not my concern one way or another.

In a rare show of solidarity I am with you. But, probably unlike you, I realize that the pendulum sometimes moves too far in one direction and might overcompensate in the other to make up for it. So I largely ignore all the backs and forth, letting it be (as the Beatles said).

I had one employee who was really homophobic. He was raised Jehovahs witness. I myself was probably homophobic for some time as I was very scared of the whole NYC scene (avoided it) and such....of course, I still do. But at this point many of our friends and acquaintances are gay and there is zero drama to it. I may even, in some cases, think they are strange...but who am I to judge? I'm strange too.

When you consider the outsized popularity of gay stuff on the porn sites and on TV, etc.....it does show that MANY "straight" people have interest, and it's not just a passing interest either. To be frank, it seems as if a lot of straight people would cast off their chains (or chastity belts) if society wasn't holding them in their places.

Not to say that is a bad thing. We all kowtow to social norms to an extent and I think that isn't always a negative.

Homo Sapiens Sapiens our species didn't invent homosexuality it is documented in many species with frequency. I read quite a few posts on this forum from people that are projecting. I know shocking for some of you to think it's possible for some of us to see beyond the veil or words you type out on your computers.
