It's not the wrath of God we need to fear. Instead, it's the stupid actions of humans, especially the hateful ones.

The aim is to destroy morality and faith not by removing religion but by deceiving people into opposing the will of God. Both homosexuals and straight people are the target. If you oppose God's will by actually supporting this you have effectively renounced your faith. It's one thing to be compassionate, it's another to celebrate sin.
Then please explain why straight adultery is regarded by conservative Christians as not nearly as much of a severe sin as homosexuality. Isn't because conservative Christians find homosexual acts, the anal and oral sex, quite grossly offensive and so believe people who do that should be treated as 2nd or 3rd class citizens under God? Straight adultery can lead to divorce with children sad and suffering from it.

No doubt, conservative Christians do not see straight adulterers as renouncing their faith. I think all conservative Christians would vote for Trump, even though he is a straight multi adulterer but never vote for a gay president only married once.

You don't get it. The main issue is not homosexuality, but the celebration of it.

There is nothing wrong with celebrating how gay people look at the world differently, often in humorous or original ways, and it often has nothing to do with sexual behavior.

There’s nothing wrong with being gay and I could care less what your religion says about it.

The days of you using your religion to persecute gay people are thankfully coming to a close.

You are delusional. Because in western countries this is becoming accepted, you think this is global ? Eastern Europe absolutely refuses to tolerate it. Africa sent a clear message to Obama, saying they won't tolerate it. The Middle East. The vast majority of Asia, or the caribbeans. Outside of a few countries mostly in the West, some in Latin America, intense homophobia remains the norm on Earth. Even Californians of all people refused to legalize homosexual marriage in 2008 and the decision had to be forced by the courts. So maybe you need to leave your little bubble, your small ghetto, and join us in the real world.

Homosexuality has always been, and is still reviled by most human beings and there are no signs of this ever changing.

No I'd say you are the one that needs to get your head out of the sand.

Over 2/3 of the American populace has no problem with marriage equality at this point, and around the world acceptance is increasing at a good pace.

Obviously we still have a way to go but things have come a long way in the last 20 years.

Honest question from a prior thread. Why does homosexuality get such disparate treatment compared to other sins by so many Christians? Are you aware of the context of those Leviticus quotes referring to abomination as a prohibition of male temple prostitutes and the English translation is disputed? Why don’t Jews condemn homosexuality so fervently despite the fact that they are essentially still living the Old Testament?

Why is it made into such a boogeyman? Why is hate for homosexuality also so often coming from people engaged in sloth and gluttony? Just self hate and they’re the scapegoats to project onto?

Collectively they act as if Jesus was quoted directly in the Bible saying they should be called out for special treatment. I personally don’t know how anyone reads the Bible and comes away with that rather than to approach everyone with love

Yeah right.

You keep believing that if it makes you feel better. But again, someone who believes there is such a thing as a homosexual "marriage" or that homosexuality is natural and equal to the normal human sexual behavior must be good at creating virtual alternate realities.

I wish all such conversion therapy people would come to realize gay people are gay and don't need to be "fixed".
^^^Indeed. I mean seriously, leave people the F alone. Fortunately, the US has been turning this direction for a while now and this is a decreasing trend.
