They still need to charge, convict and sentence, but make the sentence fit the crime. If it is victimless, and non-violent give them fines, community service, house arrest, and/or probation depending on the nature of the crime.

Negative. That verdict is in since the drug war started in the 70s.

People will use them regardless of the legal status.

Weed is a less dangerous drug than either alcohol or nicotine, both of which cause far more deaths.

That's why the U.S. government oversees it. They're experts in illegal operations...even the ones that are only illegal because they say so (for us peasants).

Not if the death penalty is applied. Caught with it, using it whatever, execution within 24 hours.
