Hiring slowed in August as employers added 130,000 jobs, further stoking recession fears and strengthening the Federal Reserve’s argument for another cut in interest rates this month.

Further dimming the latest employment snapshot: Payroll gains for and June and July combined were revised down by a total 20,000.

OP perfect example of taking numbers out of context and pretending it represents an entire economy and portends pending economic doom.

Perhaps the recession spoken of relates to someone's hair line???

It does not represent the whole picture.

We have a stock market which has not made any gains in 19 months

Consumer sentiment is plummeting

Taxes are rising

Deficits are skyrocketing

Etc

This thread isnt about Trump, Please go find one of the other thousand threads on this forum to do your whining about Trump. This thread is about the excellent jobs report that a record number of Americans are employed and we are still adding jobs even though we are under 4% UE.

the poster you are quoting can't "prove it" because the facts do not support his negative bias.

Did you even look at your own link? It appears you haven't.

The Dow right now is at essentially the same level it was in early 2018.

Awesome, that's ~ 130,000 fewer people living off of us who are already working.

90 million Americans are not working, and that's good news?

19 months ago was early 2018. As I said, the stock market has gone basically nowhere since then.

So yes, he is right. You need only click on your own link to find out.

As long as it's going up I think it's still going in the right direction. Also, with record low unemployment, there is going to be a diminishing return in added jobs because a lot of job openings aren't being filled. It's a lot better than 07/08 when we were shedding 250K jobs a month.
