How do we retroactively tax the year 1936?

Let's get this thing done.

Weak tea....The term is global warming, not USA warming....You do know when it's summer in the northern hemisphere it's winter in the south, right?....

"Warmest month evah" is meaningless drivel... especially when it's reported in hundredths of a degree and it is uncertain in tenths of a degree.

NOAA only deals with the USA weather and climate data - not the world's.

Try again, this time using world-wide data from the past 50 years (better yet, 100 years).

Um... the hottest year was for the entire globe, not just the US. Second, there have been hotter years overall in the US than 1936, which only had a hot summer. The winter of 1936-36 was one of the coldest on record, especially for the Upper Midwest. It would be nice if, just once, you guys could get your data right.

No, science is absolutely not an opinion, even forecasting. All science is based on provable evidence. You start out with some evidence and try to hypothesize theories that fit the evidence, and then you have to repeatedly support that hypothesize with even greater evidence, all of which is peer reviewed.
Yes, science can get things wrong because it's constantly evolving as we learn more and more, but it's not wrong in the way people think. It's not like making a random claim without any support- such as calling GW a Chinese conspiracy like Trump did, or claiming 1936 was hotter when it factually was not. Science is a process that is checked, double checked, triple checked and then checked again. It's a constant strive for accuracy and fact, but sometimes in that process we don't have all the evidence.
In the case of global warming, thought, the more we learn, the more we know it's happening and how. We know we're responsible. We know we're running out of time to do anything meaningful about it.

...July 2019 was hotter than July 2016 by 7/100th of a degree...... 0.07

and their margin of error is 0.17 degree...........LOL

NASA/GISS > "The new uncertainty web site was created and a paper was published that deals with that problem. Roughly speaking, the uncertainty of annual global means after 1960 is about +-0.05șC, for seasonal and monthly means that number increases to +-0.1șC and +-0.17șC, resp

..their margin of error is +/- 0.17C

No, the point of believing in established fact is because some of us want humanity to survive. We want our children and their children to have a future. The actions of those so-called "leaders" aren't the problem. You're talking about a few people at best. Either a culture change happens globally, or we die. It's that simple. I honestly have zero hope, because there is a lot more of the type of proud ignorance you display in the world than thoughtful reason. So yeah, we have no future.

So you're saying 3 years ago was even hotter? Yeah, that would totally disprove recent global warming!! It was 3 whole years ago!!!

1936 was the hottest July on record in the United States.

2019 is the hottest July on record, world-wide.

The USA is 6% of the world's land surface; barely a blip.
