July 2019 was hottest month on record for the planet
Polar sea ice melted to record lows

August 15, 2019Much of the planet sweltered in unprecedented heat in July, as temperatures soared to new heights in the hottest month ever recorded. The record warmth also shrank Arctic and Antarctic sea ice to historic lows.

Actually, a lot of science is an opinion.

Forecasting climate ten years out is 100% opinion. That's why there are hundreds of opinion based models that forecast very different climates.

Why do you deny the science? I suspect that you didn't watch the video.

You should at least watch the video and comment on the facts presented based on NOAA data. You might learn something.

So, we should accept it and do nothing but post on social media like all the others that believe in AGW?

Lol

In the first part of the video, the author focuses on temps in the US, which is irrelevant because NOAA's claim was that July 2019 was hottest on record for the PLANET, not for the US. That's why its called GLOBAL warming.

He then spends a lot of time flipping back and forth between two global temperature maps, one that's mostly red and one with a lot of blue. His claim is that NOAA was faking the mostly red one.

But he fails to note that the two maps have different baselines. The map with mostly red is comparing July 2019 to the average for the 20th century. The map with more blue is comparing to the average for just 1980 to 2010. Since global warming is a long-term trend, obviously you may see areas of both higher and lower temps if you look at a short time span.

Whenever you see or hear something that doesn't sound right, it is wise to investigate a little. It didn't seem logical to me that NOAA would think they could put out a fake temperature map and no one would notice. (That's like Trump thinking he can alter a hurricane map with a sharpie and get away with it). It took me less than 5 minutes to find the flaws in this YouTube presentation.

The point of believing in AGW is to post on social media in order to signal how progressive you are. So what would be the reason for watching it?

AGW warriors are concerned about visuals and maybe trying to punish some companies, but nit much else.

Look at the "leaders" of the AGW movement flying around in jets and buying big homes.

Interesting. My parents said the early 50's were the hottest they ever saw. Big drought too.

Or maybe you should look at the NOAA official data as opposed to allowing some guy sitting in his basement spin it to tell you something you want to hear. You did not even realize your hero in the basement was looking at one country only, while NOAA was looking at the planet as whole

Don't allow people to play you like this. Its embarrassing.

We had 22 days this summer which were 90 degrees or hotter, although only six were hotter than 92 degrees in our county in SE Pa. The top temp was 96 degrees. June was rainy and cool to very warm, then July and early to mid August were hot. But no records were broken. We did have a very wet summer until the latter part of August.
There was real worry about the corn and soybean crops being negatively effected from such a rainy spring but they rebounded very well over the summer and in Pa will be very good.
I'll classify the summer as not too bad. It was hot and very humid for a stretch until mid August. Then it was a drying spell. No extreme heat, there were some heat waves of 5 or more days of low 90s. Bearable. Now its almost perfect early September weather, cool( 70s) to warm( 80s).
I think we'll get a drying trend and cooler temps and an early Fall. High pressures and cold fronts coming down from Canada seem to be dominating right now like they did last winter and spring.
