I more loathe the idiots cheering for an economic downturn more. Untold suffering of a portion the lower 90% of the population who stand to lose their employment... and possibly everything they own.
Who is rooting for a recession, though? Presidents don't normally have much direct impact on the economy, but most presidents aren't Trump. Most people are just saying that the chaos is not beneficial and there may be longer-term consequences without any sound policy or stability.
A high rate of employment has many positive benefits including helping the economy and reducing dependence on government. There is nothing more important to address income inequality than JOBS.

The number of people employed in the United States hit a record 157,878,000 in August, according to the employment report released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
That's an increase of 590,000 from the record 157,228,000 employed in July.
The unemployment rate held steady at 3.7 percent. For blacks, the unemployment rate dropped to a record low of 5.5 percent last month. And for Hispanics, the unemployment rate was 4.2 percent in August, which ties the record low set earlier this year.
First off.....I would hope so due to the fact that we are currently at a record high population in the country....and people need jobs.
Secondly, suppose a country has a high rate of unemployment. Say there are 500,000 employed in that country. Say there are also 500,000 general laborers in the country making 20 dollars an hour, among the workforce. If each of those jobs reduced the pay to 10 dollars an hour you can hire two people for 10 dollars an hour as opposed to one, thus reducing unemployment to zero (theoretically).
Is the economy of the country improved/better now that its at full employment?
What has happened in America, the last several recessions, is that millions of good paying job are lost, then when new jobs are created.....they don't pay what the old lost jobs pay in terms of wages and benefits.
The moral of this story is that you cannot look at employment and unemployment rates in a vacuum.
Since Trump took office over 7,000 retail stores went belly up. If Trump is such a great business leader why is retail business failing? 7,000 stores closing results in a huge number of people out of work.
Of course they can always go to Wmart where they will get $11.50/hr but limited to 28 hours per week to ensure they will never have an healthcare benefits. However, no worry, these people are paid bottom wages and therefore are entitled to Medicaid. Isn't that wonderful. Walmart pays nothing for their employees and as a result, you, the taxpayer does. Isn't it nice to know you are helping the Waltons earn their $1.5 billion? The Trump Effect.
You do realize that with an increasing size of the work force that the US often sets new a new record for employment? Its just not a very unique situation.
Nobody said it was the only time. But if you took the time to read the numbers you would see that the employment PERCENT is also increasing and the UNEMPLOYMENT rate is at historic lows.
It's OK to look for bad news everywhere so you can feed your Trump hate.

Less jobs than forecast...any growth being in stuff that costs us money (health care) and is likely paid for out of debt and deficit (personal or federal).......

"Economy and Population of the USA grows" - because it does! Each day.
It's not "winning" to have more people off of health insurance then before and people having to work for well less than a living wage. We could say we've been at "anyone can get a job" level since 5% unemployment....and the downward trend in that has been the same since 2009. But not much "winning" in terms of what the middle class gets paid.
The real numbers are things like - 46% of Floridians are not making it (united way)....meaning at best treading water as long as they go to work each and every day and don't get sick or have anything normal happen to them (car accident, deaths in the family, disease and on and on).....
That's not Happiness of the People nor is it high on the scale of General Welfare. That's serfdom in a sense.
So why is anyone worried that immigrants will "steal jobs"?
