So what? It doesn't negate the fact that there are people who only want the old Rhodesia back because they feel that Blacks should "know their place".

And I saw this quote who could have fit Mugabe:
He lived long enough to do villainous things.

Or even play a role after 1980.

Don't forget - the land confiscations didn't happen until 20 years after Zimbabwe became an independent state. The British pretty much stalled on the land reform needs or ignored it...until push came to shove.

Ian Smith and his minions can go stuff it.
I still don't think Mugabe should have done any of that stuff. On the other hand, I will mention this. I don't expect the British Empire at the time would have prevented any land grabs. The whole point was to make sure Blacks were put last.

I would have done this. Land reform could have taken place under these conditions. Create a policy where the government could buy land from people who wanted sell their land. And then after that, let people buy the land from the government. However, there is still one other problem. Alot of Blacks couldn't afford to buy land and didn't know how to work the land. There should be more training courses to teach people how to work the land, how to farm the land. Everything was set up under Rhodesia to make Blacks utterly dependent . I still think there were much better ways to have land reform. Kicking people off the land and having no compensation, not a good thing.

Disgusting.
The only real reason some people say "Bring back Rhodesia" is because they believe in white supremacy. Mugabe was a bad man and I don't shed any tears over his death. He did horrible things. On the other hand, many people use Mugabe as a their go-to nan to say "Things are better under White rule". Apparently not many people consider that neighboring Botswana has done much better since independence. Much less racial strife, a better economy, much more rule of law.

Zimbabwe can do better than Mugabe or the current President. There is potential in Zimbabwe. Rhodesia does not need to be brought back. The way things were in old Rhodesia were not good. What is needed is a better Zimbabwe.

Sorry for the bump but I spotted that tweet about the fate of Mugabe's mansion where some talk to turn it into a museum or monument.

Beyond disgusting. That's where the do-gooders channel our hard-earned tax money.
