You still got guns and all are happy. No violation of 2d amendment.

Yet, this is tyranny for it holds the population over a century in the past, reduces them to using 19th century technology.......while the government is using modern technology. What is good enough for the government is not good enough for the population, what rules apply to the population does not apply to the government.

Now, mind you, I am not criticizing your proposal......just illuminating it.

Enforce existing laws.

Take down existing gun laws that are meaningless and have no bearing on prevention of gun violence and are simply intended to discourage gun ownership.

make sure there are immediate consequences for 'intentionally' falsifying firearm permit applications.

demand instant nics database checks. In Nj the wait was several weeks, at the same time in Maine, it was 'instant'. there should be zero delay accessing a database.

Demand release of JV records*****************************

Most guns used in crimes are stolen. ********** often from guns shops, armories and during shipping.
If you want a law, start with the prevention of stolen guns.

Demand all state require reporting of stolen guns!!!!

Standardize statistical summary of violence and gun violence so false information is not publicized to favor anti gun advocates and keep pro gunners in check, mostly anti gun stats are twisted using hierarchical coding to move incidents to support a political narrative. school shootings, mass shootings, are especially twisted to raise emotions while diminishing facts essential to solving the complex problem of violence. In one weekend the death toll and injuries in Chicago can reach into the 50s, yet it is not considered a mass shooting and goes pretty much ignored in that the victims are reported as sterile numbers while other shootings, called mass shootings, highlight each victim and their families. why the disconnect???????

Along with this goes the need to use technical terms instead of emotional bait such as 'assault weapons, automatic vs semi-automatic, 'powerful rifle'. etc

Encourage the media to take politicians to task regarding their statements. Example, Obama said the safest places have the strictest gun laws.... sure they do , but only in some academic theory, not reality!

Consolidate incidents of gun violence/violence for each state via GPS, to show the predictable location for the next incident of gun violence. Incidents would be clustered and not equally distributed. That information must be considered when proposing laws and regulations.

Dump activist judges and prosecutors! example the judge and prosecutor in DC spending years going after a guy who had an empty shell casing on his desk. Chris Christie dump one judge in NJ who played loose and fast with administrative gun laws.

The media must not become a university of knowledge for the next shooter by publishing details and strategy used!!!!!!!! Reporting that a 'record number' of people were shot is an invitation to the next shooter to up the score and 'hold the record!!!" In this day and age of violent video games emphasis on attaining the highest score, the media is baiting the next shooter. the media needs to set reporting standards in conjunction with a psychiatric consultant. Since they already have ethical standards this should not be cumbersome to spreading the light of day.

The UK which has extremely strict gun laws, yet allows the use of suppressors/silencers. Allow the use of suppressors in all states, keep the Federal tax stamp and the background check that already exists.

Allow concealed carry in places like NJ, pending very strict selection of applicants and not just carte blanche for retired LEOs.

All that related to firearms is the tip of the iceberg when addressing the problem of violence. By no means are these suggestions meant as a panacea. Social issues, mental health issues etc need to be addressed without regard to the social justice firewall of silence lest you potentially offend someone or some demographics.

Prison reform and justice system reconstruction is at the top of the list!

Drugs and gangs do the greatest amount of killing and wounding, address gangs and drugs and the murder rate will drop like a rock. Most return for the effort with this issue.

CA senator and anti gun activist, Yee, sold guns to anyone with cash. Actually weapons of war was in his for sale inventory.

Eric Holder usag, gave guns away to Mexican drug cartels and at the same time Hillary Clinton claimed mexico was getting most of its guns from the USA. What a coincidence.

CO diane DeGette, championing the cal for more gun laws was unfamiliar with the operation of the guns she was proposing to control.

Obama said the safest places have the strictest gun laws... if that were true Chicago would be a sanctuary city safe for all comers night and day, while Maine would be the place angels fear to tread. there is no room for elected politicians who use lies to forward apolitical agenda it creates a false trail that leads away from the source of this complex problem. It sacrifices innocent lives in exchange for political advantage.

then again, Obama said a video caused the attack on Benghazi, so it must mean violent video games play a part in promoting gun violence??????

Small children won;t be able to shoot well. They should get hand grenades. It's easy to pull the pin.

good question

Who can stop on line shopping for weapons? A federal ban on weapon sites?

What's to stop me from using the dark web? It wouldn't be long before gun lovers would create a new vocabulary to advertise their guns for sale. People are creative when they need to be.

Whatever ban, tax, etc. is imposed on gun sales, somebody will find ways to get around it. Prohibition didn't work. The drug war didn't work. Banning gun or ammunition sales will not work.

* Constitutional carry should be a reality in all states. If you want to carry a gun, you may. A revolver that cannot be quickly reloaded will do nicely.

Adam Lanza (Sandy Hook) fired about 150 rounds and killed 26 people in a matter of minutes. He used weapons that were legally purchased, although not by him. If I were "in charge" those magazine fed and clip fed guns would never be sold in stores or shows again.
So you would outlaw the 22 rifle I have used since 1956 to hunt rabbits and squirrels?
And by outlawing semi auto handguns, you would give criminals the advantage against homeowners protecting their families?

I would follow an advice from Thomas Jefferson. The Constitution should be written by living for the living. The Constitution should be rewritten in simple modern language, not requiring the caste of anointed Judges to interpret according their whims, every 25-30 tears. 2 nd ammendment written in 18th is a joke when it's applied to 21st century, it grants the rights even gun toting compound dwellers refuse.
