Do you agree Bill Maher or is he being his usual jerk!

Quote:
In August, 53 Americans died from mass shootings,” the host of Real Time with Bill Maher told his live studio audience in Los Angeles. “Terrible right? Do you know how many died from obesity? Forty thousand. Fat shaming doesn’t need to end it needs to make a comeback. Some amount of shame is good. We shamed people out of smoking and into wearing seat belts. We shamed them out of littering and most of them out of racism. Shame is the first step in reform.”

Well, sometimes you have to be an a$$hole or a jerk to prove a valid point. Being over weight has become acceptable in this country. So called "thick" women get more attention than a woman who is in good shape.

I do think that comparing the two is apples & oranges (shootings vs being fat). But he is right that people not being ashamed of being fat anymore.

There is nothing wrong with Constructive criticism, but deriding people for their looks is just wrong. That being said, the trend the Media is promoting for "larger" women is UNHEALTHY and can lead to Diabetes, Heart problems, High Blood Pressure, and other serious health conditions. It is IRRESPONSIBLE to glorify fat people.

I do see that as a trend. If you are comfortable with your shortcoming, why try to improve yourself?

Mayer is jerk. If he gets his wish for a recession to hit and hurt Americans we will probably be seeing more obese people because they will lose their jobs and be forced to stop eating good stuff in turn for cheap comfort foods to fight their depression. No job usually means no healthcare so that means more people dying younger.

Does he really hate Trump that much? I say yes and Mayer is a jerk.

Speaking of fat shaming...

Hey, Bill, you're getting a bit thick between the ears... best tend to that.

If you combine the obesity problem with the current uber casual fashion styles, you get fat slobs. There is acceptance and sometimes even pride to look like a fat slob. It affects who we are as a society.
