What reasonable and rational inquiry and investigation, determines why you personally should not have a gun?

Can you think of any reasons, why you personally should not own a firearm?

I don't hardly use my bow and arrow and never use my knives.

So, yeah, I should not own a gun for the best reason possible. I don't need it or want it.

I need one to protect myself from people like you. If we can get the guns away from crazy right wingers, then maybe I could do without. I would have to think about that. I don't need an AR, though.

Only drove through that Desert once and probably never again. Don't be scared. We are staying here in safe and green climes.

Yes. Bringing a gun into my house increases the likelihood of somebody being shot by the gun. If I don't have the gun, those chances decrease.

*** Reasons to own a gun/guns ***
1- self defense
2- recreational shooting (hunting & food)
3- competitive shooting/marksmanship
4- it's a hobby with loading accurate ammo
5- because the 2nd Amendment allows us to keep & bear arms

*** Reasons not to own a gun/guns ***
.... Can't think of any..

having lived in dangerous areas i have an ability to keep aware of my surroundings, but i still don't have the lightning fast ability to determine and identify a threat instantaneously too draw and shoot a weapon...

i have managed to live 63 years relying on my "radar" so far..however the 2nd amendment zealots with their "open carry" laws and such seem to me to have maybe compounded the danger...

talk of mental illness even at the highest levels suggest a misunderstanding of the mentally ill and why there is little mention of the gun owners perceived ability to respond positively in an encounter which suggests a fantasy mindset as a possible delusional "mental illness" escapes me

Owning a gun is a very personal choice but it is a Right for everyone to make that decision for themselves.

I have inlaws that think guns are nothing but dangerous weapons, designed to kill that no one should ever touch bu then again they live in a country where the police don't carry guns so they don't understand how integral guns are to the heritage of America. I try to explain to them that America is a country because of brave men that had a gun in one hand and the dream of freedom in their hearts.

I have known many people that should never be allowed to touch a gun let alone own because of their temperament. I think this sort knows this and that is why they don't own one.

I don't fear being shot in my home because there are no guns there. It is more likely that I could be shot at my workplace or public venue.
