Dead kids are dead kids.

Should we ban swimming pools?

Statistics on Guns in the Home & Safe Storage
You double downed by having a car and a bathtub.

You should get rid of both dangers before saying I can't have a gun that will statistically never harm anyone.

I believe it. Apparently, Texas and Florida has many citizens owning guns. I would have never known this if I didn't read it here on City-data and I have lived in both states for more than two decades.

There aren't any "dangerous things", there are only dangerous/irresponsible people, who drive, drink, don't train their kids to swim, do drugs, and those who use guns irresponsibly, thankfully such people are a very small percentage of the latter. There are plenty of laws that are supposed to keep guns away from such people but they still find ways to get them, along with other tools like knives, hammers, axes, baseball bats, gasoline, matches, etc.

Because I might have to use it to defend myself and end up being put in jail by a jury of liberals.

If you are concerned about cars killing, make sure you elect Democrats who will be more willing to make sure our cars are safer. You are free, I assume, to start a separate thread on this topic.

More guns equals more gun deaths. America should be the safest place on earth but it sure ain't...
More swimming pools mean more dead kids.

More alcohol mean more dead Americans.

Neither pools or drinking alcohol are needed. Ready to ban those or are those deaths entertaining?

Tell us why YOU, personally, should NOT have a gun, as asked in the OP

5th Commandment per Catholics & Lutherans: Thou Shalt Not Kill.

The First Buddhist Precept: Do Not Kill

6th Commandment of the Torah: Thou Shalt Do No Murder

6th Commandment of most Christians: You Shall Not Murder

* A gun only has one purpose. It is an instrument designed to kill or injure.

Because I don't want the chance that my future kids get hurt using it or use it to hurt other people. Call me paranoid, but I don't want that chance to happen!
