Less plastics in the oceans for one. Marine life is dying from all the plastics.

Wow....thanks for the illustration of patriotism and environmentalism. I guess "my wallet" should be put into the Pledge of Allegiance.

My husband and I don't drive and our nearest grocery store is a mile away. When we need groceries, we walk there rain or shine. And yet we still aren't massively inconvenienced by paper bags because we always bring our reusable bags.

I just think it's funny that most everyone whining about this are the people who have cars and drive to the store. They only have to walk from/to the parking lot a few steps away from the entrance. How lazy can people be? Just keep reusable bags in the car always and remember to put them back in your car after you've unloaded all your groceries at home.

I agree that government shouldn't be forcing anything, but it's also odd that people complain about it even when stores enact such policies voluntarily.

Some stores, like Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy never went to plastic bags. It's nice their paper bags can go into recyclables, but recycling is becoming less practical because foreign countries no longer want sent recyclables and failure of people to properly sort what is recyclable. No, styrofoam isn't recyclable.

Poor baby. Life is hard.

For my part I always keep some re-usable bags in the car. It makes it easier to carry the load.

I use my reusable bags all the time even when paper bags are free. In most of the world (except Japan!) customers always bring their own bags.

Well, you could do what many people do and bring your own bag (not paper or plastic, but canvas)

Here several stores sell them and it is inexpensive.

Amazon sells them as well.

You can buy paper ones with handles if you want those.
