To someone who thinks abortion is murder it probably looks like he's pointing out a flaw in my thinking as a pro-choice person. To a pro-choice person, it looks like he is pointing out a flaw in the pro-life argument. So it's going to lead us to have this discussion. It works from multiple angles which makes it pure genius and why I believe he has achieved Carlin status.
I absolutely believe he has achieved Carlin status. He’s doing exactly what comedy has always done, push boundaries and make you think. A lot of people think jokes are real because most comedians deliver it in the first person, but it’s no different than an author writing fiction.
From a purely logical standpoint, the choice to have a child is completely within the control of the mother. The father, if you were to respect their choice, would then be allowed to choose whether to engage in that rearing or to just bow-out but that is not reality.
It is complicated but it does raise some degree of hypocrisy in that *choice* to have a kid is one-sided.
That line of reasoning has been discussed on this thread:

Well, no, it isn't about total equality across the board, because sometimes it isn't possible, and biology is one of those reasons. Men on average are stronger than women are; women carry babies inside their bodies and men don't. Just realities we have to face, and there is no need to try to make all things equal at the detriment of an entire sex and their rights. Women and our rights and autonomy will be harmed if men can exert control over our bodies, and for that reason alone, well, "men's rights movements" can go suck it.
Men have ways to ensure they either do or don't have babies - by having responsible, protected sex if they don't, always using a condom and doing their best to ensure or check if the woman is on some form of BC. And if they do want kids, by waiting until they find the woman they feel is the right person to have kids with, one who has similar values as him and who he'd make a great partner/parent with. It isn't as if men are totally helpless; sometimes it seems some want to do what they want without consequence then cry when there are actual consequences and biology means they don't have a choice in the matter. It's not as if people don't know how babies are made; sometimes I just think some are too lazy to do the right/smart thing in advance, then they wind up in situations they don't want to be in and have massive regrets that they didn't do the right/smart thing, then just cry about how unfair basic biology is and how they wish they could control others to have what they want and avoid what they don't want. It's a pretty crappy attitude to have.
Eh, no, he is not funny. And the crowd looked like they were stage actors, paid to laugh at certain points.
Just saying, but it feels to me like he is trying to normalize pedophilia with his jokes. There is nothing in that that is a laughing matter to me. Maybe it's because I deal with kids who have been abused all the time, and I see first hand the hell they are going through, and it makes me so sad that there are people like Chappelle making millions off of their suffering, and wanting to blame them for their crisis. It's even worse that there are people out there defending his sick jokes.
The fact that your triggered means his routine worked. He’s not trying to normalize it. His jokes are meant to make people laugh and get under the skin of others. Congrats, you took the bait..
All over my social network, all of the conservative channels seem to be jumping on this bandwagon of Dave Chappelle's new comedy show, Sticks and Stones, is must see TV. They claim it's triggering SJW's, but I personally saw the first 15 minutes, and all he talks about is how he doesn't think Michael Jackson is a pedophile, and if he was, then kids who were abused by him should be thankful they got their junk molested by the king of pop. No joke. He even goes as far as to claim if he was a pedophile, he would make sure McCullay Culkin was his first victim.
So, I take it, conservatives are okay with pedophilia being a joke, just as long as a Black comedian takes a jab at the homosexual communities?
Like, really, people think this guy is actually funny? I seen people try to compare him to George Carlin, and sorry, but George Carlin was genuinely funny and touched on real issues.
Why is leftist media going out of its way to tell people not to watch it?
It IS triggering SJWs - you need to watch more than just the first 15 minutes. He absolutely eviscerates them in his "impersonations" portion of the special.
I take it that you like to jump to conclusions based on 15 minutes of an hour plus comedy special?

I think most of those who didn't like Eminem dissing on Trump, never liked Eminem in the first place.
Personally, I don't care what Eminem says. Yeah, he can rap, but that doesn't make him brilliant.
Just pointing out the irony on who gets offended and who hates PC culture. Like I'd point to libs and say "remember when we were kids and you like eminem and you get offended now?"
Then I'd look at older folks in my family who hate PC culture and I ask them "Remember how you hated eminem because he was offensive and vulgar?"
Pay very close attention to his 2nd impression and who the audience thinks he's impersonating before he destroys them.
THAT is why the leftist biased media is telling people not to watch it, and why SJWs are triggered and slamming it.
Hmmmmmm....So do we think the SJWs are ignorant of the Streisand effect*? If so then your theory holds; if not it actually might be a strategy to get people to watch it. If it's a deliberate attempt to get me to watch it via the Striesand effect, then I clearly cannot watch it. If it's an attempt to stop me from watching it then clearly I must watch it. Luckily I've spent the last 3 years building up an immunity to iocane powder.
Sometimes a joke is just a joke and I think all of us have earned a good laugh without looking for hidden agendas.
*The Streisand effect is a phenomenon whereby an attempt to hide, remove, or censor a piece of information has the unintended consequence of publicizing the information more widely, usually facilitated by the Internet.[1] It is an example of psychological reactance, wherein once people are aware that some information is being kept from them, their motivation to access and spread it is increased.[2]
