Why do we not see praise from CNN, PMSNBC, and other leftist outlets, not only for the major decreases in illegals crossing the border, but also for President Trump's planning and negotiations to put his plans in place?
They will praise him for it, any time now I'm sure.
Trump’s plan to stem border crossings gets results
Border arrests are plummeting after Trump crackdown.

President Donald Trump’s plan to force Mexico to stem the flow of migrants across the southwest border of the U.S. appears to be working.
Border arrests, a metric for illegal crossings, plummeted to 51,000 in August, according to preliminary government figures obtained by POLITICO Wednesday, down more than 60 percent since a peak in May. And border watchers say it’s largely because of an agreement Trump struck with Mexico in June.
Mexican authorities, backed by the newly formed National Guard, are now cracking down on migrants traversing Mexico’s southern border with Guatemala, monitoring river crossings and stopping buses carrying migrants from Central America through Mexico. At the same time, the U.S. is making tens of thousands of asylum seekers wait in Mexico while their applications are considered.
The decline in border traffic — if sustained — could amount to a major victory for Trump as he heads into the 2020 election. Perhaps more important, the experimental measures taken by his administration could reshape immigration enforcement for years to come.
Also, wouldn't crossings typically fall in the summer months when temperatures are much hotter along the border regions? Seems strange to just measure since May. Looking at the link, it does appear most years see a drop between May and August.
Beyond any of that, though, celebrating the fall because of gross human rights violations, kids in cages and threats is hardly something to be proud of.

And that May was 3 times higher than under Obama.
So if we're laying this reduction at Trump's feet, we first have to acknowledge that he raised it 300% before he cut it a measly 60%.
I'm sure Trump's policies are playing a role in reducing the number of illegal aliens crossing our border. His policies on asylum seekers are doing the same. However, it is typical during the summer months for crossings to be much less because of the dangerous heat.

I don't know if Trump's efforts are significantly reducing the number of illegal aliens but I imagine it's helping some. At least he's trying to do what he can in the face of constant sabotage and resistance from the left, and honestly with not a lot of help from the right.
Glad you mentioned 2014.
In 2014 This article was written encouraging Obama to end policies that encouraged unaccompanied children to cross the border. He did not do so.
In 2011 there were 6500 unaccompanied children.
In 2013, 13,000
In 2014, between 60 and 80,000.
Obama caused this tragedy. It may take a few years to undo the damage. The Wall will help.

You guys need to really get together and get your stories straight. We've also been told that Obama had the same policies of locking up kids and families and being tough on immigrants that Trump does. We heard that repeatedly early on when the cage stories popped up. Which is it? He can't simultaneously have been "strong" like Trump and totally weak and ineffective as you're suggesting.
Also, which Obama policies, specifically, caused an increase? Also, any actual link to those numbers? Your link is just a conservative opinion piece with no supporting links to them, either.

And yet the numbers went down in 2015.
The huge spike occurred in 2019, firmly on Trump’s watch. So far by the numbers Trump’s rhetoric has only increased illegal immigration.
