99.999% gun owners have nothing to do with those killed by guns and many shooting "victims"
are criminals. Why tax them, safe gun owners are not the reason for illegal shootings. Might as well require pool owners to pay a yearly fee that will be used to compensate drowning victims and their families, it has as much relevance.

BTW - The weapon most cited for buyback is the AR-15 Rifle, all rifles (including AR-15's) are used in many fewer homicides that blunt objects such as a bat or a hammer.

And even stranger, 'law enforcement' are the group tasked with receiving these guns from people? How weird is that? Law enforcement is the LAST group that should be doing this!!

I dont think it was a coincidence LE was picked to handle this though, it really sends a clear and direct message.

Would the buyback guarantee warranty of not at least being double taxed each and every time you buy a gun?

That would constitute a tax on exercising a constitutional right.

And would also serve to prevent lower income citizens from exercising their 2nd amendment rights.

Racist.

It is obviously disingenuous. That alone should highlight the true motive behind such a suggestion.

Just like bans and confiscation, you are punishing the law abiding instead of the criminal. Fees, taxes, licenses, mandatory courses (more fees), insurance, and all the other stupid ideas to place more burden on gun owners is an INFRINGEMENT. Read the 2A.

How about a speech tax used to compensate people who have been slandered?

If you want to post on sicial media or talk in public spaces, you pay for a license allowing you to do so.

Don't worry, you can talk at home without the license.

To be fair, government owns your home while allowing you to rent it. If you don't believe this, don't pay your rent (property taxes), and you'll be evicted from the government's property.

Many States, Counties, etc have real estate, property, and personal property taxes. So, not only to you pay government rent on your home, you pay on some of your possessions. It is madness, and way beyond what the Founding Fathers envisioned ways to fund the necessary evil of government.

If you don't pay your real estate taxes, people with guns show up, evict you and forcibly take your home, even if you own it free and clear from the bank.
