To those that say that 2A is absolute and literal, everyone and anyone can own a gun - felons, schizophrenics, psychopaths, etc.
To the rest of us who believe not everyone is entitled to own a gun, I would say ask a psychiatrist to evaluate whether the person is emotionally stable enough to own a gun.
My son has Aspergers. He is the most careful person at a range of anyone there. His IQ is north of 150. Most with Aspergers do things exactly the same each time. Once they learn gun safety, they never vary from the routine.

And that is the problem.
I'm sure a psychiatrist would consider me crazy because I love going 100mph over the water in a boat. 80 plus mph on a snowmobile , or SxS and as fast as I can on a sport quad. And while doing them, I am at piece. Listening to Slayer as loud as I can helps me concentrate. I drink way more than 4 or 5 alcoholic drinks a week, and I voted for Trump. Oh, and I take advantage of the 2A.

It really depends on where they are on the spectrum and if correctly diagnosed. Believe it or not, there are many who are on the autism spectrum and don't realize it. Sensory Processing Disorder SPD) is one of those things that has similarities to those on the autism spectrum. So it's a very fine line.
No one with mental issues should have a firearm. That being said, how is that to be determined ? Current laws state one has to be adjudicated legally with mental issues. That leaves the door open to a whole host of other issues that never make it to that point.

I often hear gun rights supporters saying the 2nd A has no exceptions, but here we are.
Property rights are absolute, which also means they are not contingent on the reports or opinions of a state certified Doctors.
