Texas is leading a coalition of 50 states and territories in a coordinated anti-trust review of Google. Legal action could and one would think probably will follow.
This is not about censorship of political views. It is about whether "Google abuses its market dominance in online search, advertising, and mobile operating systems (Android) to unfairly gain leverage in other markets, stifling innovation and harming consumers."

Less than two months after the Justice Department initiated a wide-ranging antitrust review of big tech companies, 50 U.S. states and territories, led by Texas, Monday announced their own investigation into Google's "potential monopolistic behavior."
A key issue in the states' probe is whether Google abuses its market dominance in online search, advertising, and mobile operating systems to unfairly gain leverage in other markets, stifling innovation and harming consumers. Although anti-conservative bias among Google's leadership has been documented and frequently draws the ire of top Republicans, the antitrust probes do not expressly relate to those concerns.

Of course Google is a private company and not a public utility. Or is it? We have laws on our books at both the state and national level that disallow anti-competitive conduct by companies who have monopolistic or nearly monopolistic market power.
This does need to be regulated. We do not want these large tech companies ruling our society through the power of their gargantuan market dominance in the information and technology sectors.
