Ok, Ive explained this before.

You look at weather patterns, you can see where the climate is heading. The weather is less predictable because it happens in a smaller amount of time and is far more random.

Picture an arc.

Now imagine your zoomed into the arc and your following it. Along the arc there are small spikes, you cant really predict what comes next, but you know that the arc is going upwards, so you know in general where the climate is headed. You cant predict exactly if it would rain tomorrow though you know based on trends that its highly likely.

So its like how you know at some point this week its gonna rain because its been showing a pattern of rain for the past month. But to predict if it is gonna rain tomorrow, your not guaranteed.
