Yet most people here don’t know jack. Like they know more than people that actually dedicate their lives to this research.

Do they dedicate their lives to research or to research funding?

I'm disappointed they didn't refuse rescue until a solar-powered helicopter could be dispatched.

I would hope that these fools were required to pay restitution for the services provided. They after all, put themselves in harms way.

Having beliefs is fine, but when you place others in dangers for your folly you should have to pay for it.

They're being told ice is melting and they believe it. Then they get there and see the opposite.

So it's OK for climate scientist to make wild claims about sea ice melting in direct conflict with reality, and every person noting inconsistencies in their theories needs to shut the **** up because "even professional racers crash from time to time."

****ing brilliant!

Here's an easy experiment for the deniers who seem to be confused on what ice melt is all about. Take an ice cube out of your freezer and place it outside on the sidewalk in the hot sun. How long does it take to melt? Several minutes maybe? In that time, did the practical reality of the environmental temperature change? No, probably not. Were you able to still touch the ice and interact with it even as it melted? Of course you could. Now imagine an ice cube the size of a small continent. Now add heat. No doubt it will take much longer to melt than your wee little ice cube, but melt it will. In the meantime, ice still exists for careless people to get stuck in and interact with. This is not rocket science. It doesn't take a genius to understand any of this. The people who think they're being really clever posting this stuff make themselves look like they failed elementary science. Ice takes time to melt, guys. I can't believe this even has to be said.
