Ice is melting in some locations, and growing in others. That doesn't fit their narrative, so they get stuck when they think they will find less ice. It sucks when you are trying to strengthen a false narrative to fit a socialist income re-distribution agenda.

"Common sense" has literally nothing to do with science. Common sense often tells us one thing that turns out to be completely untrue once actual evidence is gathered. You can't just believe your way into a position, you have to prove it. You can't prove your position, and therefore have nothing valuable to offer the discussion here. I'm sorry you don't understand the science behind climate change, let alone human-induced climate change, but being ignorant of fact does not change the fact.

There is no discrepancy that you're suggesting. Where do you guys get this stuff? They get stuck because ice moves. It's a floating mass.

No, it's not. In individual years, total ice can increase or decrease, or increase and decrease in some locations but not others, but we're talking about the total mass of the ice over the long term. The overall trend is steadily down.

It was a boatload of climate cultists... doing a 'documentary'... on "How To Get A Boat Stuck in the Ice" ???

No, did you see where I typed "Amusing Anecdote" ?

I am a computer scientist. I understand data models, statistics, trend analysis, etc. Why is it we never see adherence to the scientific method when dealing with the climate alarmists ? "Huh the data does not support the hypothesis, maybe the hypothesis is wrong ?" Here is why: It was never about saving the erf. It is all about CONTROL. Expecting us to live like a third world hell-hole w/o combustion engines, w/o air conditioning, while our "betters" jet around and live in 10,000 sq ft mansions. Stealing from the makers … the producers … and giving to the takers because, "fairness".

If sea levels are rising, why did Zero just buy beachfront property at Mahtha's Vinyahd ?

Wait, so being a computer "scientist" makes you an expert on climate, a completely different field of study? LOL.

As for why people would buy beachfront property... probably because they're short-sighted and think consequences can only apply to other people. Or, they're scientifically ignorant, like most people. Was this a serious question?

I honestly have no idea how any of this is hard to understand. It's literally the "snow in my backyard" argument, just phrased in a different way. People really have no idea what they're talking about.
