I personally side with folks saying that people are overly sensitive these days. Like grow up, get a backbone.
It's not that much of a switch. Libs still defend it when black artists say ****** in their hip hop music (its often the only word I can understand) or defend Little Bow Wow when he says that he is going to rape Melania Trump. Also, few celebrities actually take on the PC police- they aren't bright enough to understand that they joke is on them and the filth they produce.
Look up the term "Thermidor." When a movement starts cannibalizing its own, it is usually at the end. My prediction is that there is going to be a massive swing left as a reaction to Trump, and then a huge crash in which the left as we know it ceases to exist.
I didn't wanna derail the Chappelle thread. But I do remember Em bringing a lot of controversy. He was offensive and angered parents.

All statists are snowflakes. They believe they have the right to tell you what to eat, drink, inject, hear, see, etc. and are willing to back it by State force.

Um, you don't remember Tipper Gore etc. going after the music industry in the 90's? I think Hillary got in on that too. If you are younger, google it, will be enlightening.
The problem you're going to run into with that is that true liberals and more libertarian cons are not going to mess with those things.
What you're left with are the fascist liberals and the religious cons that know best how you should act, speak and so forth.
