Yeah, itís called denial and addictive thinking. Modern society puts out a lot of fads and lies. Morbid obesity causes a lot of serious health problems.

Taking care of her feet is beneficial for this lady. I noticed the fake nails, hair and eyelashes. Iím OK with all that. I just wish she would put just as much effort into a high protein /low carb nutritional plan.

As others have explained, weight isnít a protected class and the business isnít required to have bariatric chairs.

Not painting your toe nails is letting yourself go?
The chairs may look sturdy to you but apparently those chairs have been damaged in the past due to excessive weight.

Good for her! So let's judge the folks who pay someone else to do their nails!

Makes no difference what why this woman weighs as much as she does, someone her size recently broke one of the expensive pedicure chairs and the spa owner does not wish that to happen again.

The woman apparently can sit in regular chair to get her eyelashes done. Why can't she sit in a regular chair to get her pedicure?

Is that what he meant?

When you buy office or business chairs the description clearly spells out the maximum weight the chair can hold. The owner was being precautionary, given her size. As someone else posted earlier in the thread, he would have been foolish to have her sit in the chair, break it, and possibly injure herself. A lawsuit waiting to happen.

Mean comments - about things that you have no control: Race, height, age, disabilities.
Weight is a choice. She CHOOSE to eat like a pig and not to do sport.

Well, the way I see it. No-one here really knows the woman so how can they say "she CHOSE to eat like a pig and not to do sport."? How do you know that?

There are a lot of reasons people become overweight. Some are medical reasons, they LITERALLY can NOT help it.

Food today does not have the same nutritional quality as it did decades ago. Do the research, for yourself. Food today is full of horrible chemicals. They even have chemicals in some foods that trick your brain into not feeling satisfied, so you eat more, way more than you normally would. The society we've become is screwed up and there are more people on anti-depressants than ever before, some anti-depressants cause major weight gain. Great. So your depressed, take pills and become overweight and become more depressed, it's a terrible cycle.

Some people over-eat instead of doing drugs. For some people, food becomes a comfort source, to help them deal with major trauma. There are some military vets who fall into this category as result of PTSD. Dealing with trauma.

There are a lot of reasons why someone may be overweight, and not all of them are because "the person just chose to eat like a pig."

It's just not a good thing to judge a particular person and say cruel things about them if you don't really know them, personally.

I dont think she is being judged for paying to have her nails done although some posters are judging her for her weight (shame on them). I think the point is that not everyone can be accommodated everywhere and if you are obese you need to accept that and realize there are alternatives. Nails can be done at home by yourself or have a friend do it for you instead of making a stink. Other people do it all the time.

You cannot change physics. Weight is a result of calories in and calories out. You feel not satisfied? Tough luck. Find better food.
Again, it's all matter of choices and strong will. You don't have a strong will? Develop one. You don't want? Ok, so it's your fault and you deserve to die.
