Everyone I know has a guest room. You don't have one?

Tens of thousands of people were displaced in the Bahamas due to Dorian. We're supposed to take all of them in, now, because the U.S. dodged a bullet, in comparison?

Some people won't be happy until WE'RE a Third World, banana boat country.

Trump claimed criminals and gang members who aren't Bahamians were hanging out in the Bahamas.

Totally different thing.

I'm sure there are jails in the parts of the Bahamas not effected those people can go to.

Meanwhile properly documented Bahamian citizens land in Florida for assistance as we speak.

The Bahamas have 30 inhabited islands. The Hurricane hit only a few of them.
Those not hit are still open for business. There is no need to evacuate people to the US.

Add to that, they are part of the British Commomwealth and quite wealthy.

Within 2 hours, Trump contradicted his appointed acting director of Customs and Border Protection who took a more humanitarian stance. That “ well oiled machine” thing.

So? Why don’t they go to Britain? It was their colony. Lots of other places to go in the world. Or, just stay and rebuild your country.

Obama bought a seaside mansion in a lily white community and not on a brown skinned island. Who's the racist again?

Meanwhile, in reality, what actually happened was that a boat which wasn’t cleared by immigration authorities to make the journey was stopped from crossing until the passengers were vetted - which is exactly what should have happened.

Another boat carrying 800+ Bahamians made the crossing with no issues because the owners did what they were supposed to do.

Trump had nothing to do with either. Baleria Caribbean, the owner of the ship which Bahamians were told to disembark from, had been informed that they needed to coordinate with US and Bahamian government officials prior to making the journey. They didn’t do so. The fault lies squarely upon the shoulders of the operators of the vessel.
