The US seems to have 1 mass shooting incident a day.

Link reports 36 instances of violence over the past 21 years. Of these, 7 meet the FBIís criteria for a mass shooting.

Many of the references to medications are anecdotal as in someone said, blah, blah, blah.

Some instances refer to anecdotal reports about the killers receiving counseling for anger management.

When one considers the number of scripts written for psychiatric medications in the US and the rest of the world, blame-throwing at the medication does not compute.

In some instances, it appears some of the sensational high body count, mass shooters, may have benefitted from medication had they chosen to be medicated. Specifically, anorexic Adam Lanza, Sandy Hook killer, spent his time in his motherís basement playing violent games and engaging in social media with others who admired mass shooters. His only communication with his mother was via email. The only time he left the basement was to go to the shooting range with his mother.

Canít imagine keeping guns and ammo in oneís home when someone as unbalanced as this guy was. Mother was his first victim.

.
By and large the countries with the highest rates of abortion are totalitarian states that have also disarmed the populace long ago . That is how they are even able to force abortions on the common people .
China would be a good example of this .

I think it's because folks that are suicidal are also homicidal, and on the sliding scale of crazy.

Reasons these mass shooter clowns have for doing what they do are pretty varied but seem to mostly be rooted in some radical ideology. At the end of the day what I see as being the big issue is that it has been presented over and over and glorified that there is no human issue that cannot be solved via application of deadly force.

Be that a firearm, explosives, a vehicle etc. Movies, television series, video games what have you are inundating things with the concept that if you have issues with something and want to solve it just shoot it up, burn it down, blow it up or run it over.

Since the majority of what is classified as a mass shooting is black on black, gang culture has a lot to do with it. Rap music has glorified gang culture or has gang culture glorified rap music? Who knows?
No one knows how to change the culture. Guns and drugs are accepted as part of the daily life in that culture and no one expects to live past 30.
When a white man shoots several people, it is on the news cycle 24/7.
When a black man does it, it is just another day in the inner city. It barely makes the news.

Maybe it just shows that the news is racist or they have become so jaded that they no longer care.

Psychiatric Drugs- Most sensational mass shooters were not under the influence at the time of the shooting. Perhaps if some of them had been, they may not have engaged in mass shooting. The Las Vegas mass shooter had been prescribed a low dose generic form of Valium, one of the most prescribed medications in the world.

Society- Work hours/ days have been substantially declining over the past 100 years.

Manipulation- Not likely most if any mass shooters are influenced by anti- gun rhetoric.

India tends to be a violent country, so there may be a point to it.

Screw all those other reasons, some (not all) of these shooters are driven by hatred.

Just like the Pittsburgh shooter was trying to "kill as many Jews as possible."

HATRED. Intolerance. Racism.
Agreed. Hatred and rage is the determine factor in most of these cases.+

I thought it was the easily available assault rifles that cause them ?

When an event like that happens, the media beats it to death. There were fewer media outlets "back then".

Redefining 'mass shooting' will determine their number.

We have mass slaughter in places like Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore and none of those are included. In fact the victims are ignored and reduced to clinical numbers.

So how is a mass shooting defined?

the most obvious variable overlooked is the new age of instant communications. Prior to, wack jobs stayed in their cellars and fanaticized, thinking they were the only one in the world who felt the way they did. Now every perversion has its own forum.

Media provides lessons learned for the next shooter, providing details of the shooters strategy.

Claiming a shooting broke a record for number killed provides incentive for the next perv to top that score and hold the record. No distinction is made between a high score on a video game and real life, they blur for the shooter. Most people play video games to run up a high score. Copycats abound!!!!

Epidemics occur when technology becomes more sensitive. Same number, just see more of it.

Secularization of society, schools, community plays a big part. Fatherless families, lack of guidance and consequence for bad behavior are far more common now than before. Law alone cannot control society, society needs religion and community to apply peer pressure and give a sense of ethics and morality. the law alone does neither.

Out of control gangs and proliferation of drugs contributes to the most shootings. In fact gangland murders far outnumber the nebulous image given to mass shootings. Sealing JV records has to stop! A gang banger kills while in early teens and gets a clean record which allows that person to pass a background check and legally buy a firearm. average gang member is 15 years old!!!

Guns do not fall into the hands of gang members from gun shows! check out 'guns stolen from...' name a city or town and see that thousands of guns are stolen from gun shops, armories and LEOs.

Laws cannot stop mass shootings! Laws are just a legal reference for prosecutors to base their charges.. after the crime. Law beyond the point of diminishing return is the false solution offered by elected officials.

Social justice prevents an open discussion of the complex problem of violence.

Want to sift out the next shooter form the crowd.... poll classmates in grammar schools to choose the most likely candidate.
