That I understand. But that doesn't really address my question...

I personally think that as polarized as the country is now....... Whichever side wins, there may be hell to pay. A lot of tension simmering for the next 13 and a half months.

Hope I'm wrong

It's kinda fun to watch, actually.

Like the way he falsified a NOAA weather map just to troll the left. Brilliant. Like the way he regularly makes a fool of himself and shreds his own credibility just to watch libs heads explode. 3D chess.

Trump tweets about running again in 2024

This seems to be an admission that prospects for reelection in 2020 are not very good.

how many people want this?

Some idiots, since everyone else is well aware any President can only serve 2 terms. But he sure successfully blew some heads up, once again.

If he loses his re-election bid in 2020, he will still be liable to prosecution for his Federal crimes, as well as state crimes. If he wins reelection the Department of Justice will not indict him, per department policy, and the statute of limitations will run out.

Trump really needs to win reelection to stay out of the Federal pokey. If he were an honest man, at his age retirement would be an appealing option, but Trump does not have that option.

Those would be the "idiots" that understand that different people with the same last name can each have two terms.

This is all true. Trump knows the stress of the job is ruining his health. And he's the most miserable unhappy looking schlub on the planet. But he can't retire to Mar-a-Lago and milk his status as former president for big megabucks and pursue his dream of a Moscow Trump Tower because he has to stay in office long enough to let the statute of limitations run out on his crimes.
