Well, as I said before, I think,......where was all this rememberance in the decades before when Americans were being killed.

On that day, 18 years ago, that is what really hurts that the rest of the country finally realized and before, since it was all overseas, they didn't care.

But on that day, they became part of the fight......but then again, when they did, so many went off in the wrong direction, only seeing one thing, only seeing one kind of people........and being so blind to anything else.

At work. Everyone thought it was a small-plane accident, until more news came out, and when the 2nd plane hit.

I know. Principles don't care about lines on a map.

Remember the 9-11 victims along with all victims.

I lived 50 miles out of NYC but was vacationing in Virginia.. left when the planes hit and drove back because I have close family living in Manhattan. I could not get in touch with them. Strangely a family member from NC got through and called me .. they were ok. On my travels there were police at all the tunnels, bridges, watching over the sites . It was strange and sad..

When I returned I saw the purple smoke streaming across the Atlantic Ocean in the distance as I was heading home.. 50 miles away and the smoke kept coming. It was a solemn time as the smoke steamed south over the ocean.

Saw the first tower on fire and saw the people on the streets being interviewed saying the plane intentionally flew into the tower. While the camera was on the burning tower, it caught the second plane striking the second tower. Wish I hadnít turned on the radio to hear his announcement. I could have gone to bed that morning and gotten enough sleep. Instead I couldnít hardly sleep at all. Was downing cups of strong coffee all night at work just to stay awake. Though itís been 18 years, it still feels like yesterday.

I was staying in Altoona PA with my then girlfriend at the time, it wasn't all that far from where one of the planes went down .I was just waking up, and sleepily turned on the TV. I saw it all happen right in front of me. I wasn't fully awake and thought it was some disaster movie, so I changed channels, it was on every channel. I just started sobbing. I couldn't stop. I cried all of that day. I spent the next three days barely able to function. People say "never forget." Sometimes I wish I could. But there's not enough alcohol on Earth to make me forget that day. It was seared into my mind like a branding iron. It's still a hard day to get through.

Was working at a defense contractor. Heard about a plane hitting the first tower from a coworker with a radio. At the time sounded like it was just some small Cessna. After further rumors running around visited the supply office which had a small tv and saw it happening there. As word spread and crowd around that small portable tv grew they setup the CNN broadcast on a projector in one of the conference rooms and we watched the devastation there.

Awhile after the towers fell management came in and told us that it's likely we are going to war and that we needed to get back to work as our systems were about to be called on heavily.
