I'm sure this is the scenario Dems are hoping and praying for, as it's the only chance they have of getting elected in 2020. Even with that, it's still a mighty slim chance nonetheless.

It's why the media is trying to talk us into a recession.

Any one of those candidates on the stage would do a better job as president than the one currently occupying the WH.

They are all 100 times more "normal" than what we have now.

Only if you believe a good job is open borders, higher taxes and less freedom.

Can we be honest and admit that 2020 is a crap for both parties.
I know its blasphemy to insult Trump but everything he has passed could be done by another Republican as there is nothing ground breaking going on. And it would allow the country to take a chill pill, get off twitter, and stop arguing everyday about stupid tweets. Trump is starting to flail around now and to be honest I don't think he likes the day to day Presidential stuff.

Democrats, I have no idea what is going on anymore. I like bits and pieces from some but none of them have a total package I can get behind. And none of them seem interested in working with a Republican Senate which they would have to do (Not sure Mitch McConnell would allow anything bipartisan, he's like a second president with Veto power at times even to Republicans). Some of the issues the OP raised are real and I don't know how any of the candidates expect to pass their agendas through a Republican Senate.

All I hope is neither party burns the place down while we wait for 2024. It is clear that the USA either lacks Leaders or we the citizens are poor at picking Presidents. Perhaps this is just a symptom of an ineffective congress for over a decade.

Wrong. Put anyone other than a radical Dem/communist in next year, and the left wing propaganda arm will just find something else to stiff and fetch about. You'll never get a "chill pill" until they have free reign to conduct their agenda of socialism.

There is plenty that is groundbreaking going on. You'll simply NEVER hear about it from the bought and paid for by Dems media.

All in all it was a very sad evening if you, like me, see the Trump presidency as an existential threat to American democracy. The sad fact: all of these candidates have major issues come next fall. Biden is clearly not up to the task. He is mentally in decline. He is lying about his record. While Trump is too, whataboutism is not going to cut it next November. You can't attack Trump for unsuitability or lying if you are the same or worse. The next two Warren and Sanders are too far left in a centrist America, even one that is fed up with Trump. Yes, we want health care reform - major - but open borders? Reparations? Get real. Harris is more like the American majority, but she can't seem to catch fire no how. She would rip Trump to pieces in a debate and that astute political observer, Steve Bannon, claimed she would beat Trump. But Dems are just not going her direction right now and the kooky system we have letting people in Iowa and SC determine who are candidates will be is not much help. Maybe a white knight (no racial thing here, just an expression) will emerge and put this whole matter to rest. But as it stands today, things do not look good.
