Great opening two posts that illustrate the reality of what is going on here.
Both posters believe those issues through their own eyes.
Awesome. Have it.
Problem comes when both posters condone and actively support the State using violence to implement policy in seeing that these issues are carried out as they see fit for all of us (collectivism).
In short, will you allow me to believe what I want if I do not initiate force on others?
I won't answer for either poster, or any other poster, but if you have the guts...take a stab at it (no pun intended).
The 50s that MAGA folks like to talk up was when we were kicking butt...with science. But those same people criticize scientists and higher education as elitism with an agenda.
The root of it just being that science has increasingly challenged their dogmatic world view. So they latch on to anything that counters that and provides "alternative facts".

Ill allow you to believe for yourself. But I don’t condone spreading misinformation. The problem is that people who spread it pret on the ignorance of others. Like people being told to drink bleach to cure their cancer.

I don't care.
Will you engage a 3rd party to use force against me so that I can't exercise my freedom of association to ascertain all (or no) information regarding a certain subject?
There is plenty of misinformation going around about how MJ is some miracle drug that cures everything from cancer and seizures to being some sort of magic pain killer. None of that is true but it's everywhere.

Yep. Ego too tied up in personal beliefs. Can't handle being wrong because it feels like a personal attack - they are unable to mentally differentiate between what they believe and who they are.
It isn't new by any means but the internet gives a sense of newfound legitimacy to people that are not smart enough to tell the difference between a good/bad source.
Because these geniuses who have turned their backs on science and rational thought have suddenly realized that with knowledge comes responsibility. It's much easier to deny science and believe in the gibberish those who want to control them have told them, absolving them of any blame or consequence. We really are seeing a lot of "useful idiots" lately.
