There's no place for common sense here. The loons on the far left care, so now everyone must pay the price - even if the person who did this benign thing did it 20 years ago and is a loon on the far left himself.
Here's the thing if you are focused on whether or not the media is saying brown or black face -- you are missing the whole scope of why what Trudeau was wrong The brown or black doesn't reduce what he did......it still is the same.
Trudeau has owned his mistake, acknowledges it was wrong.
If he was being accused today of being 'racist' in the execution of his policies then most definitely this story would be sufficient evidence to pursue his dismissal.
BUT --- what makes this different than some of the other racist accusations of folks who have appeared in black face in the USA, is that Trudeau is considered to be a leader who supports diversity. He has never been accused of being racist.
Here in the USA the folks we have attacked for black face or racist statements back up their racially insensitive behavior with racially unacceptable policies.
TRudea was an idiot to wear black/brown face.
He acknowledges that, apologizes and moves on.
Voters can decide whether they think he is still a racist.
Having said that Trudeau has more serious controversies and this is really the least of his problems.
