Jacob Javits many years ago was a Liberal Republican from New York. Imagine that.

There was another whose name escapes me right now, was called a "limousine liberal" from the "silk stocking district".

I here the word used to define everything now it seems. I saw a guy get called a Liberal for eating a salad at a sports bar recently, is that Liberal?

Just trying to figure out what the threshold is, what is the line that someone must cross to become a Liberal.
Of course! Rockefeller was a liberal Republican, and Lieberman was a conservative Democrat.

Your salad bar incident just sowed that the name-caller was misogynist and homophobic.
