Typical conservative defeatist attitude. We created this problem, we could solve it. To solve it, let's begin by throwing deniers to the curb and ignoring their idiocy. The adults then can begin the work of fixing this problem.
End your govt's global footprint, its 18 years of continual bombing of planet earth, its $4 trillion spendthrift budget (talk about a waste/misuse of resources ), then you can lecture others on the miniscule in comparison tailpipe emissions of cars and cows.
And even then you never get to stick a gun in anyones back to force your beliefs on them.
Yeah I can see where building in flood prone areas could be costly when weather suddenly causes problems in areas where it didn't before.
The best plan may be to stop insuring those who build in at risk areas and to start using some planning to stop paving over areas which causes or worsens the flooding.
The hubris of these people to think they are so important that their actions can impact a system that is billions of years old.
Do you know how earth first got the oxygen we breathe?.....Cyanobacteria....If they can change the earth's atmosphere, what makes you think humans can't?
The main financial impactor thus far has been severe weather events. These have been steadily increasing since at least 1980. A total of 241 severe weather events since 1980 have cost the US over $1.6 trillion.
"The U.S. has experienced a rising number of events that cause significant amounts of damage. From 1980–2018, the annual average number of billion-dollar events is 6.2 (CPI-adjusted). For the most recent 5 years (2014–2018), the annual average is 12.6 events (CPI-adjusted)."
Unless we are all willing to live in a pre-industrial state or being, nothing is going to change and there is nothing we can do about climate change, assuming it’s man made.

I’ve been watching the climate change debate for 30 odd years. The science has only become stronger and stronger that it is occurring, to the point that scientists aren’t even debating its existence anymore... that’s only for Koch brothers lobbyists now.
Koch Bros. lobbyists and Trumpist tools, you mean.
Yet another Envirophobia thread? How many is this today?
If this is all you can add to the discussion, you should not have wasted the electrons.
