My question is does this 16 year old walk the walk, or is she like most of the other environmentalist elites that travel the world telling us to change our lives while they personally generate carbon footprints many times that of the average person.

A high tech racing sailboat is made of carbon fiber, but so what? Fossil fuels or petroleum do not effect climate change unless they are burned.

Yes but you want to tax the same oil that is used to make stuff. Also, how about all the fossil fuel energy used to MAKE the boat? Why didn't se just get on an airliner that was COMING HERE ANYWAY?

Well, in her defense ... the crew of the sailboat got on a plane (that was going there anyway) to return to Europe.

And a new crew to take her home will soon hop on a plane (that was coming here anyway) to the US.

Obviously voting Democrat ... the anti-God, pro-socialism party.

Good on you for admitting it.

Planting a tree and reduce fossil fuel...Wow! LOL @ "I'll let George explain!" Good call, Greta!

It doesn't even acknowledge other factors that need to be addressed.
  • Needless Consumerism (Apparel, footwear, tech, etc)
  • Food Waste
  • Ineffective of Recycling in certain sectors
  • Quantity Reproduction over Quality Reproduction

The young lady is not stating anything new. She is just the IT girl of the moment for the cause. Remember Al Gore; he was gallivanting around via private jets stating the same thing, made his millions in speaking events and is retired from the being the face of the "cause". Are humans negatively impacting the Earth??? Yes. The four points i listed above are just some of the ways that we are doing just that.

As others have stated, she should be back in school and attending counseling for her issues. Her parents should definitely be investigated.

No.. Right Wing Americans thinks its a hoax and a scam.
Either because they are fundamentalist Christians, scientific illiterate or just hate governments.

They dont think 8 Billion, soon to be 11 Billion people burning as much fossile fuels as they possible can, is doing any harm in a closed loop ecosystem. No serious consequences could possible happen..

No no no.. its AAAAALLL natural. Jesus most likely.

Because they can't see a future with solar panels, wind mills, battery storage, thorium reactors, electric cars, goods produced locally instead of shipped across the world, insulation buildings and just using less energy.

You like the status quo... you like convenience, even if it damages the climate.

.
We all know polluting is bad...no need for the lectures. And I've been all for the highlighted since I was aware of offshoring and going "global". This is where we need to focus. Shipping is one of the worst polluters ...yet not a peep about it from Greta and her peers. This is why many of us aren't paying attention to her.

We know where the issues are but they aren't being addressed with viable solutions. Ones that won't kill economies across the globe.
