The fact that you completely dismiss that situation suggests you might not be entirely impartial and this might just be tribal politics at play.
It would have been tough for Biden to shut down an investigation that everyone in the know agreed did not exist, no?

That's been proven false. What you do have is Pompeo, et al. going all over the world trying to get other countries to investigate our own intelligence agencies.

The company that the investigation was targeting certainly thought it existed according to internal memos, the prosecutor that was fired certainly thought there was an investigation..... of course it went away once Biden stepped in.

The only reason to hire that literal crackhead was to buy his father's help getting rid of the investigation. He had absolutely no qualifications.

C'mon man, look past tribal politics for a second here, there's no way you would ignore this if it was involving Trump and his son.

We've got enough people in this country to testify. Pompeo and Guiliani need to testify though. Besides, I don't think Schiff has the authority to subpoena another country's citizens.

The Guardian won a Pulitzer in 2014, and took the award for "Best Newspaper of the Year" in 2018.

They are highly respected throughout the industry, even by Fox.

This should be called: The Case of the Missing Investigation.

Any investigative activities focused on Zlochevsky (Burisma's founder) for money laundering appear off the mark (Lutsenko's point). He left Burisma before Hunter Biden arrived in May 2014 with the investigative period two years before that. It's irrelevant if Zlochevsky's activities before May 2014 are being investigated after that date. Not that Shokin was doing any actual investigating.

Other activity focused on Burisma the company. Closed maybe before Joe Biden came to Kiev in December 2015? References are made to the Burisma investigations being closed in 2014 and 2015. A tax evasion case was later closed by Lutsenko, so that might have been active. Or maybe not. Perhaps Lutsenko instituted it post-Shokin. Small fine levied. Hunter Biden not involved.

An investigation that Shokin technically opened was requested by the Ukrainian Parliament and immediately transferred to the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Shokin had no ability to influence it there. It's supposedly closed.

RudyG says he has this Shokin affidavit that he "planned" more activity and would interview all the Burisma Board of Directors. The date of the affidavit presumably postdates his firing? He appears anxious to be a Giuliani witness. That's hardly persuasive. What he had in his head. No corroborative evidence presumably much less action. And no theory why that would impact Hunter Biden.

Maybe I've missed something but I get why the WSJ and anyone else who's looked into this says: Nothing There.

Everything I've read says the same.

Whatever happened occurred before Hunter Biden arrived. There is no evidence or even reason to believe that either Biden was involved in anything nefarious.

Trump carries on about a lot of things that just aren't so. For years he flogged that BS about Obama's birth, then he accused Obama of wiretapping him, ...

The list of nutball conspiracy theories that Trump spreads is lengthy.

This is another one. Only this time, he tried to strong arm another nation into backing his play.
