Whistleblower is an intelligence officer. Gathering facts from multiple sources is what they do. He or she has a lot more credibility on this than a regular Joe who hears gossip at the office. The officer is not going to risk ruining his or her reputation unless he or she knows the facts are good.
The evidence here is very strong. That's why Pelosi immediately authorized an inquiry. Open and shut case, he'll be impeached by the House before New Year's.

Fact remains, the transcript clearly stated there was no pressure exerted toward the ukraine president....yet the whistleblower report said it several times.....so if the whistleblower is stating what those same people wrote in transcript, why did they not write about anyone being pressured in the transcript?
You're actually right. The Democrats are caught between a rock and a hard place. The impeachment will ultimately fail. Trump won't be removed from office. But it must be pursued, because if a criminal is known to be guilty and allowed to go free without pursuing charges at all, that's the same as condoning his actions. And this person has likely committed crimes against the entire country. The fact that the GOP will not vote in favor of his removal means they condone Trump's actions too. The entire country and world will see the Republicans as they really are. The Democrats are doing the right thing.

Trump committed a serious crime: Trump tried to force Ukraine into colluding with him on the 2020 election by withholding military aid.
Impeachment is not a "stupid thing" to do. With a crime this serious, Congress has a duty to impeach. Shame on any congressperson who votes party over country on this.
Firing up the Republican base doesn't matter -- it's the same 30% of the electorate that sticks with Trump no matter what. If the House presents a solid case of wrongdoing and impeaches Trump, his standing among independents and moderate voters will take a serious hit, even if the Senate acquits.
