I imagine that there is likely much about the Bushes that many haven't heard about yet. Time will tell.
Reading about their friend Mel Sembler, their appointments of him, and their promotion of his business Straight, Inc. makes me see the Bushes in a negative light. The Bushes also pushed for schools to have standardized tests (how convenient for manufacturers of the tests).
Most people think they were because George W. Bush made the fight against abortion and gay marriage a focus of his Presidency. He campaigned on “traditional Christian values” and enforcing them by the strong arm of the state. Red state America loved that.
I personally don’t think George W was smart enough to be really evil and was more of a puppet, but one thing he wasn’t is moral.
