The Treaty is self-executing. It provides for a broad range of cooperation in criminal matters. Mutual assistance available under the Treaty includes: taking of testimony or statements of persons; providing documents, records, and articles of evidence; serving documents; locating or identifying persons; transferring persons in custody for testimony or other purposes; executing requests for searches and seizures; assisting in proceedings related to restraint, confiscation, forfeiture of assets, restitution, and collection of fines; and any other form of assistance not prohibited by the laws of the requested state.
A couple of questions, as phrased by Jim Kunstler:
How does this not permit Mr. Trump asking the president of Ukraine for “assistance” in criminal matters arising out of “collusion with Russia,” as specified within the scope of Robert Mueller’s special prosecutor activities? For instance, the matter of CrowdStrike.
And also, the question of former vice-president Joe Biden’s levering US aid to Ukraine in his demand to fire the prosecutor investigating the company, Burisma Holdings, that just happened to hire his son, Hunter, to a $64,000-a-month seat on the board of directors, not long after the younger Mr. Biden was kicked out of the US Navy reserve for cocaine use — what a sterling fellow!
Someone help me out here with this, if you can.

Unbelievable. The whole Hunter Biden affair has been shown to be a hoax. Instead of promulgating hoaxes and dealing in deflection, why don't you address the issue of Trump's abuse of power. Apparently Ukraine was not the only victim of Trump's international extortion efforts. Trump has turned the executive branch into a hell hole of illegal activity.

No it has not. It has been declared to be a hoax by some of the most over the top, unconscionable liars that our species has ever produced. That not only fails to establish it as a hoax, it signals that this is something these pathological liars feel threatened by having people looking into it.
Go ahead, encourage that process further with your partisan rhetoric, TB.
The Ukrainian prosecutor was investigating Burisma for things that happened in 2010-2012.
Hunter Biden, was hired in 2014. AFTER the investigations where complete.
"The investigation into Burisma covers a period when Ukraine was governed by a Kremlin ally, Viktor Yanukovich in 2010-2012.
Burisma hired Hunter Biden after Yanukovich was toppled in a popular revolt in 2014 and replaced by a pro-Western government."
Trump really believed the conspiracy theory going around.
So, Trump wanted the Ukrainians to open up a bogus investigation against Hunter Biden, for a time period he was not even working there. But somehow pin it on him.
Or else Trump would keep withholding the Military Aid they desperately needs.
And that is perfectly fine by ALOT of people here.
