OH please....now I know for sure you're a liberal. Even a "low paid" player making $500k pulls in 10x what an average worker does, so he will have pulled in a typical lifetime earnings in four years. If he puts in 16 years, he's pulled in QUADRUPLE what the average person makes over 40 years, and then the guy is still only 35 years old or so - with another 30 years of income-producing time ahead of him.
Baseball players are ALL RICH by the time they're 30.
Man, you love counting other peoples money, lol!
Tommy Jospeh played for the phillies in 2017 and made $543,000. Hasn't played in the majors since. But according to rachel he's RICH!!!!
So, his tax bill on $26,000,000 per year (using standard deductions) is $9.5 million. His cumulative state taxes for Pennsylvania should be about $450,000 and roughly another million for the rest of the states, and he is limited to only writing off $10,000 in SALT, state and local taxes, under the new tax code. That takes us to about $11.5 million in taxes of his $26 million, or a little over 44 percent. So, about 44 percent of the time, Bryce is working for the government – 4 out of 10 catches, 4 out of every 10 throws – wherever he is, he should just point towards DC and say, that one is for you.
Average agent's commision is 5%, though Harper has superagent Scott Boras, who made 109 million (rich beyond words) dollars last year. It's safe to say he charges a slightly higher commission based on his performance.
I grew up in Pennsylvania. Where did you grow up?
Bryce Harper isn't making min wage so none of that means anything to me. Min wage post taxes and then multiply it by average years in the league.
When I asked where you grew up I meant socio-economic class and background...not specific geographic location.

LOL $543,000 for one season? That isn't too bad at all.
Like others I prefer Baseball over the NFL and for the same reasons. I lost all interest in the NFL due to the actions and response to those actions by the owners. While I respect their right to protest, I invoke my right to protest their protest.
Besides I have fallen in love with Australian Football. It's a faster game and it is absolutely more entertaining.
Subtract taxes and agent fees, a player making 550K takes home less than half of that. And even so, why would you think that someone making that is "rich beyond words."

Then why did you ask for the numbers? Are you trolling?
And someone making 550k per year is in Harper's tax bracket.
I told you where I grew up. Now you tell me what socio-economic class and background you grew up in and maybe I'll reciprocate. If you choose not to answer then I'll know I'm just wasting time with you.

I'm not trolling.
I'm trying to get the "poorest" MLB player's min. salary and thought that doing min wage X average number of years in the league was a fair way to get the most destitute player's total salary for playing baseball.
I'm asking for total income after taxes. Tax rates don't mean anything to me in this conversation.
You're afraid to give the number is all I can assume at this point.
And your final demand is meaningless. I already clarified the meaning behind my inquiry.

$200k+ a year for a few years would enable smart person to buy some rentals and be set for life. What the heck are you smokin'?
Are you kidding me? MOST of these guys earn in the 7-figures. Even the lower paid ones earn $500,000 - and yes, a few years of that and you are rich.
20% of MLB players only play one season. Most have played for an extended period in the Minors making very little
