Yep. The GOP considered impeaching Obama for anything they could find. That was until the polls were not with this idea.

Quote:
During Barack Obama's tenure as President of the United States from 2009 to 2017, certain Republican members of Congress, as well as Democratic congressman Dennis Kucinich,[1] stated that Obama had engaged in impeachable activity and that he might face attempts to remove him from office.[2] Rationales offered for possible impeachment included false claims[3] that Obama was born outside the United States, that he allegedly allowed people to use bathrooms based on their gender identity, an alleged White House cover-up after the 2012 Benghazi attack, and failure to enforce immigration laws. No list of articles of impeachment was ever drawn up and proposed to the Judiciary Committee.
Quote:
Multiple surveys of U.S. public opinion found that the clear majority of Americans rejected the idea of impeaching Obama, while a majority of Republicans were in favor; for example, CNN found in July 2014 that 57% of Republicans supported these efforts while about two thirds of adult Americans in general disagreed with them.

He should have been impeached for accepting bribes from Ukraine.

Default EW/Obama used the same lie to forward their positions at Harvard

Funny, both Obama's birthplace and bidens collusion with Ukraine etc, were born during Hillary's 2008 primary campaign.

As for Obama being born in Kenya, that was what this learned lawyer, trained in language nuance and punctuation, from Harvard, missed when he reviewed and validated his bio.

As for someone saying, if Obama was not a citizen he should be impeached. what is wrong with that statement?

the attempted equivalence is an absolute fail.

Another oddity, Elizabeth warren and Obama used the same strategy/LIE to forward their position at Harvard.

AMAZING!

As is in the OP, the Repubs rethought the idea based on polls.

It sounds like typical politics when the Dems dump on the opposing teams leader and vice versa BUT what is different now is that the Democrats have the media in their pockets and they use them as a means to spread their propaganda.

Obama could have been the worse President ever but we would have never known because the media propped him up like he was black Jesus that could do no wrong. They hyped his success and down played his mistakes. They do the opposite with Trump and they are purposely alarming the people.

I fear the next election will be won not by what the candidates are peddling and what they stand for but by who gets the most positive media attention. The headlines will decide the election while Hollywood elite and news anchor celebrities tell us who to vote for and that is not Trump.

It is hard to imagine how a man as successful as Trump could be an underdog in anything but he is.

This whole impeachment nonsense is nothing but smoke to cloud peoples minds that Trump is unfit for office.
It is a political game with the Democrats.

Even if the GOP met all the legal requirements needed to impeach a political figure, the majority of Congress agreeing to do that might be easier said than done!

Trump used the publicity that CNN gave him early in his candidacy. And now CNN uses Trump outrage to goose its ratings.

But Trump made mistakes regarding the media. He urged his supporters to threaten reporters for national TV networks in rallies, and he made fun of a disabled reporter in one of his campaign speeches. And when he was elected, he fought with reporters over the size of the inaugural crowd. This argument consumed days of his early term, and was a self inflicted injury that happened because of his ego. He is entirely to blame for that.

He employed Spicer and Sanders and had them lie to them in briefings.

He himself is responsible for alienating the press. Because of his constant stream of untruths, distortions and easily provable lies, no one in the press believes anything he says, and they debunk his statements almost as a matter of course.

The Democrats do not have the press in their pockets. Reporters report news, the more sensational, the better. Dems get the same treatment if a scandal happens because of their actions. But because Trump sucks all the energy out of every day, with his lies and often shocking flouting of standard norms, he does get a lot of negative publicity and other stories get buried or not pursued. Most of Trump's problems are self inflicted.
