[quote=FKD19124;56365195]The left seems outraged to the point of posting hateful tweets about it. What is your opinion and why?
I think it was great because even though I do not agree with Ellen on everything, it shows how much class she has in appreciating the differences and not getting flustered or hateful.
So you just made up a post about the Left, whatever that means, and purport to know that they are all outraged about some television personality. Bit of overreach perhaps. Keep trying.
"Is Ellen wrong for hanging out with George Bush?"
You forgot to include my response - I neither approve nor disapprove, because it's none of my damn business who Ellen hangs out with.
Note - I'm pretty darn liberal. I've liked Ellen for years. I like GW a WHOLE LOT MORE now than I did when he was bombing poor Afghanis living in mud huts.
I've always thought George W Bush was likeable. I also thought he was a crappy President, not horribly bright, was wrong on gay rights, and made (or allowed Cheney to make) some really bad decisions that the US will have to pay down and correct for 20-30 years. But in terms of which recent President I would hang out with at a barbeque or have as a neighbor- its probably W.
I agree 100%. Would probably be a great guy to hang around with. His biggest faults were Carl Rove and Darth Cheney.
George W. won the Presidency because everyone likes him personally. From what is written about him he is funny, nice, and is able to have a genuine conversation (hard to come by in politics). But I imagine few outside of perhaps New Orleans personally hate him as a individual, just think he had horrible foreign policy and War hungry with daddy issues.
All that said I hope no one is taking policy advice from him.
